Gabrielle Schollum

New Zealand

I work in a large range of mediums, including print making techniques - engraving, dry point, etching and monoprints. These methods produce both subtle and sensitive artwork. I also enjoy working on digital illustrations - where the bold, full colour comes into play. As a graphic designer, I am always looking at new techniques to improve my skill base. I love nature, the farm environment I live in and the constant bird life that surrounds my every day. My interest is in protecting bird life, and some of my works represent conservational aspects.

More about Gabrielle

My style is varied. I love the subtle aspects of printmaking, as you will see in my engravings listed. I like to capture a bird in a tranquil, and often vulnerable moment, enhancing the fact that their lives are fragile, and we must help to protect them. I like to keep my work fresh, and work on pushing my techniques where and when I can.
